E-examination and academic performance of biology students in Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit- Nigeria

Abstract This study investigated the effect of e-examination on Biology students’ academic performance in Akwa Ibom State College Education, Afaha Nsit. A quasi-experimental research design was adopted to a sample size 165 out 408 first Year (NCE 1) students 2015/2016 session. Two questions and two null hypotheses guided study. While instruments namely: Computer Appreciation Test (CAT) Performance (BIOPET) were used for data collection. Whereas Mean answering questions, t-test statistical technique test at .05 level significance. Major findings revealed that there significant writing examination electronically performance; no difference existed between male female who wrote exam electronically. Subsequent upon these findings, it is recommended amongst others Institution should be introduced electronic mode examinations through series tutorials hands-on experience order create more familiarization as gradually coming stay Nigerian tertiary education system.
